Hands-on Science

With financial support from Rotary International [Downtown Rotary Club of Appleton (Wisconsin), the Breakfast Rotary Club of Appleton, and the Rotary Club of Escanaba (Michigan) and Rotary Club of Parvati, Pune] PSS received science laboratory materials under the Let Us Give Them the Tools project. The goal was to bring hands-on science learning to all children, especially in Zilla Parishad and municipal schools. Through the Science Fair initiative, students performed simple experiments, solved puzzles, and played
science-based games using easily available materials. Guided by Pradeep Kavade and inspired by Shri V.G. Gambhir from Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, children learned to ask questions, explore everyday phenomena, and develop scientific thinking through observation, curiosity, and joyful experimentation. This program ran from 1994 to 2000.
